Is it worth switching to LED holiday lights?

This is the time of the year when Christmas lights decorate everyone's houses. When you go to the store, the shelves are filled with many different types of lighting styles for you to choose from.
Educators from the University of Maine Cooperative Promotion Department said that the type of decorative lights you use at home this holiday season may have a significant impact on electricity bills. The educators hope that more people will invest in LED Christmas String Lights this year. LED lights stand for light-emitting diodes and are lights without filaments, which cause them to generate a small amount of heat.
As homeowners begin to decorate their homes for the holidays, some people wonder if LED lights are worth the higher price. According to data from the Department of Energy, LEDs consume much less energy. It said that using traditional mini lights to illuminate a 6-foot Christmas tree would increase the electricity bill by $10 a month. The cost of LED lights is 27 cents. If you decorate the entire house with LED lights, you can save $50 to $100 per month, and the LED has a longer lifespan.
